It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the Master’s Programme “Ancient Greek Philology”. This programme aims to focus in Ancient Greek Philology and to help our students evolve to researchers of the highest degree, capable to contribute to the educational, research and financial development of our country. In an era of fast technological advancement and globalization of knowlede and economy, classical studies remain a firm pillar of Culture and Education. Classics are in the front of various areas of research and professional activity, as they comprise the beginnings of western thought and literature, as well as the educational structures defining today’s educational system. The Master’s Programme “Ancient Greek Philology” aims towards an innovative approach with special focus on foundational knowledge fields of Ancient Greek Scholarship, such as ancient Greek drama, rhetorics, Hellenistic philology, papyrology and palaeography. The teaching of the use of new technologies and multimedia in the research process opens new horizons  and possibilities for modern scholars. Distinguished scholars from both the University of Peloponnese as well as other Greek and foreign institutions comprise the teaching staff of the Master’s Programme. It is our hope and aim that our post-graduate students will find in it the intellectual and research qualifications necessary, so that upon completion of their studies they can be in the front of philological research as accomplished scientists but also in its practical application from the position of capable executives in the service sector, where specialized knowledge of Ancient Greek Philology is required.
